What to do with those grid print-outs? Here’s an idea: when you inflict damage in Tactical Combat, you may make a Maneuver, traveling up to [M] squares, where [M] is the number you rolled on your (first) damage die . . .

We were looking at certifiably cool-game FIST a few months ago. It comes with printouts for grid combat, which is an interesting gesture: there's no rules for them, and the designers tell you to make your own if you want something more tactical. Usually this isn't a great move but here, it's a lovely provocation. FIST is halfway to a story game. It's very hard to fit grid combat in without breaking everything else: its like teaching a monkey to dance, with a shotgun, on a grid.

It was a fun design challenge, and Lily likes grid combat, so I came up with some rules. We think they're pretty neat; we hope you do too.

This is a minor project. I'll be back with something big soon I promise!

it's just a file how do i open it?

My bad! It's a .pdf but I forgot the file extension. I've updated the download (alternatively, you can rename the file yourself, and add ".pdf" to the end).

Sorry, have a weird linux setup and didn't notice.
